The ice is melting, the trees are blooming and summer's almost here. What better time to hit the "heights" in your Chevrolet Spark-the perfect mini car for city driving and city parking, as well as for gaining a whole new aerial perspective on an otherwise familiar urban landscape? Whether you're up for a romantic dinner for two or a late-night snack with a group of friends, the following eateries located high in the sky serve up awesome atmosphere and fabulous food while offering breathtaking views.

P.O.V. Rooftop Lounge and Terrace
Washington, D.C.

A table at P.O.V. atop the W Hotel at 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue affords spectacular views of the White House and national monuments. Order small plates of tapas (try the artichoke and shitake mushroom pizza or the jumbo lump crab cake sandwich) from a menu created by James Beard award-winning chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. There are often lines to get into this hotspot in the heart of the nation's capital, though it's well worth the wait.

Rooftop at The London
West Hollywood, CA

With its plexiglass surroundings, poolside cabanas and perfectly cut bright green lawn, this fashionable locale can make you feel like you are attending an English garden tea party nestled within Los Angeles's Hollywood Hills. Munch on the creations of renowned British chef Gordon Ramsay while you get a suntan. The crispy rock shrimp tempura and the curried chicken tea sandwich are both delectable.

Philadelphia, PA

This modern American-Thai restaurant located in a converted row house in Philadelphia's Fairmount neighborhood, just a few blocks from the famous Philadelphia Museum of Art, offers outdoor dining on its second-floor deck. Though traditional Thai dishes fill the menu, the seafood hot pot is rumored to be the best choice. Enjoy a sunset dinner with friends in this laid-back, outdoor setting. (For those wishing to imbibe, keep in mind that this spot is BYOB.)

Roof on the Wit
Chicago, IL

With its spot-on views of Lake Michigan and Millennium Park, and its celebrity-driven scene, Roof on the Wit is one of the hippest hangouts in the Windy City these days. You'll find two separate spaces: The Patio, a bar and lounge with fire pits and a video wall, and The Hangover, a glass-enclosed table for private parties. An inventive menu offers tasty finger foods like duck fat fries and extensive sushi choices (try the red dragon roll with unagi, spicy tuna and avocado).

Plunge Rooftop Bar + Lounge, Hotel Gansevoort
Nueva York, NY

This late-night hangout is where New York's "beautiful people" go to enjoy a heated rooftop with a 360-degree view of the Manhattan skyline. The view includes the Empire State Building and the Hudson River, but don't get too enraptured or you may overlook that famous actor or actress seated at the table next to you. Favorite nibbles here include the grilled cheese sandwich with whole-grain miso mustard, gruyére and tomato confit and the seared tuna salad with plum ginger vinaigrette.
